How to Delete Your Data

Last updated: June 4, 2026

TL;DR: The TrueTo Android app is anonymous by default — the free tier collects one piece of data, an anonymous Firebase Installation ID, and uninstalling the app deletes it from your device. If you created an optional Premium account, deleting it in-app erases your email, passkey, subscription link and tier, and synced scan results across all of your devices. This page lists every way to remove your data and explains exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

What data TrueTo collects

The TrueTo Android app is anonymous by default. The free tier has no user accounts and does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or browsing activity. It collects a single piece of data:

  • Firebase Installation ID — an anonymous identifier, automatically generated for each installation of the app, that the app sends to Google Firebase so it can download up-to-date automation configuration. It is not linked to your identity or to any account.

If you create an optional account, the TrueTo authentication service (Google Cloud, United States) also stores your email, passkey credential, subscription status and tier, and your synced scan results and decisions. For full background on each item, see our Privacy Policy.

How to delete your data

Choose whichever option suits you. If you never created an account, uninstalling the app is the most complete and immediate. If you have an account, delete it in-app as well (see If you have an account below).

Option 1 — Uninstall the TrueTo app (recommended for the free tier)

  1. Press and hold the TrueTo app icon on your device.
  2. Tap Uninstall (or drag the icon to Uninstall), then confirm.

Uninstalling permanently removes the Firebase Installation ID and all locally stored app data from your device. If you have an account, uninstalling does not delete your account data from the server — delete your account first (see below).

Option 2 — Clear the app's storage (keep the app installed)

  1. Open Settings on your Android device.
  2. Go to AppsTrueTo.
  3. Tap Storage (or Storage & cache).
  4. Tap Clear storage (or Clear data) and confirm.

Clearing storage discards the current Firebase Installation ID and all cached configuration. The app will generate a new, unrelated identifier the next time you open it.

Option 3 — Contact us

If you have a question about your data or want to make a written deletion request, email privacy@trueto.app. For the anonymous free tier: because the installation identifier is not linked to any account or contact details, we cannot look up or identify the identifier belonging to a specific person, so uninstalling the app or clearing its storage is the reliable way to delete it. For accounts: because your account is linked to the email you provided, we can identify and delete it on request.

If you have an account

Accounts are optional, and everything in the free tier works without one. If you created a Premium account, you can remove all of your account data yourself:

  1. Open TrueTo and go to your account settings.
  2. Choose Delete account and confirm.

Deleting your account erases, across all of the devices you are signed in on:

  • Your email address
  • Your passkey credential
  • Your subscription link and tier (the account-side record that lets Premium follow you across devices)
  • Your synced scan results and decisions

Before deleting, you can use "Download my data" in the app to export a copy of your account data. If you would rather we delete the account for you, email privacy@trueto.app from the address on the account.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription on its own — see Subscriptions below for how billing is managed in Google Play.

What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage:

  • The Firebase Installation ID stored on your device
  • All automation configuration cached on your device

Deleted when you delete your account:

  • Your email, passkey credential, subscription link and tier, and synced scan results and decisions — removed from the TrueTo authentication service and across all of your signed-in devices

Kept: For the free tier, nothing on TrueTo systems — the installation identifier is processed on Google's infrastructure as part of Firebase; see the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms for Google's handling and retention. If you have an account, your account data is held on the TrueTo authentication service (Google Cloud, United States) until you delete the account.

Retention: The Firebase Installation ID exists only while the app is installed on your device. Account data is retained until you delete your account, after which it is removed. TrueTo applies no additional retention period of its own for the anonymous free tier.

Subscriptions

If you subscribed to a paid plan, the payment and billing are recorded by Google Play, not by TrueTo. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. To cancel or manage it, open the Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions. Payment and billing data is held by Google Play under Google's privacy policy; TrueTo never receives it.
