How TrueTo works
You know how you want your phone to be.
We think your apps should know it too. So we built TrueTo to go into each one and change the setting the way you would. That’s how it works.

TrueTo works inside your apps.
Only when you tap
TrueTo shows you what it will do before you tap. Then it does that, and nothing else. TrueTo takes no action on its own or in the background.
Reversible
Each change is one setting in one app. Every one of them is reversible, one at a time.
Only the apps on its list
TrueTo works only in the apps it supports, and Android holds it to that list. An app that is not on it is out of TrueTo’s reach. The full list is in the app.
What it reads
To find a setting, TrueTo reads the items on the screen it is working in. It does not read your messages, your emails or other personal content, and it does not access your passwords.
One kind of settings row is the exception. When you ask whether an app is signed in to an account, TrueTo reads the account name or email address that app shows in its own settings.
What it sends
TrueTo does its work on your phone, and no tap waits on a server. The app sends one anonymous installation identifier to Google Firebase. If the app crashes, it sends Google’s Crashlytics a crash report with no screen content and no personal content, and you can turn that off. Usage analytics stay off unless you turn them on.
If a check fails, TrueTo can offer to send us a debug report, with a screenshot of the screen where it happened. It goes only if you choose to send it.
Sign in using your Google account
You sign in to TrueTo using the Google account you already have, on the free tier and with Extra Settings. Your account holds your email, name, account ID, subscription status and tier, and synced scan results and decisions, on Google Cloud in the United States. And your data is never sold or shared for advertising.
When an app moves a setting
Apps rearrange their settings, and TrueTo keeps up.
Android’s Accessibility Service
TrueTo works through Android’s Accessibility Service, the part of Android that lets one app work another for you. TrueTo changes the setting in the app for you.
You switch it on for TrueTo in Android’s settings, and you can switch it off there at any time.
