Fewer people see you.
Audience lets you choose who sees you and who can reach you.
Read receipts, online status and last seen are your apps telling other people about you. TrueTo sets who gets told, app by app, the way you want it.

Fewer people see you.

More people see you.

Your apps show people when you’re on and when you were last there. Each works both ways except Discord’s: hide yours and you stop seeing theirs.
WhatsApp and Telegram show both at the top of each chat. TrueTo sets who sees them, from everyone to no one, on Telegram person by person.
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn light a green dot while you use them. TrueTo sets it in each app, on or off.
Discord can show the game or app you have open as a Playing line under your name, to your friends and to people who share a server with you. TrueTo sets that on or off. The green dot is a different thing, your Online status.

Your apps tell people when you’ve read their message or looked at their profile. Each works both ways: whoever stops showing it stops seeing it.
The moment you read a message, WhatsApp tells the person who sent it. TrueTo sets whether it does, except in a group chat, where it always does.
TikTok and LinkedIn name you to people whose profile you open. TrueTo sets each on or off. LinkedIn’s works both ways only on a free account.

Your apps suggest you to people who have your number, your email or a friend in common.
Snapchat and TikTok offer your account to people they think know you. TrueTo sets it on or off in each app.
Facebook and Telegram lead anyone with your number to your account, and Facebook anyone with your email. TrueTo sets who, down to no one on Facebook and your contacts on Telegram.

Your apps let people message you, mention you, send you friend requests and add you to groups. The wider each is set, the more people can reach you.
Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok let people you haven’t added start a chat with you. TrueTo sets each to anyone or only your friends.
Instagram lets other accounts @mention you in their posts, stories and comments, and anyone who sees one can tap through to your profile. TrueTo sets who may mention you, from everyone on Instagram to no one.
Facebook can let anyone on Facebook send you a friend request. TrueTo sets who can, from everyone to only people who already share a friend with you.
WhatsApp and Telegram let people put you in a group without asking. TrueTo sets it to anyone or only your contacts, and on WhatsApp the rest must send an invite.

Your apps show people your photo, your number, your stories, your music and your place on a map.
WhatsApp shows your profile photo beside your name in every chat and group you are in. TrueTo sets who sees it, from everyone, so people know it is you, to nobody.
WhatsApp shows the About line on your profile, under your name. TrueTo sets who can read it, from everyone who has your number to nobody. It is set on its own, apart from your photo and your Last Seen.
Telegram ties your account to your phone number and can show that number on your profile. TrueTo sets who sees it, from everybody to nobody, with exceptions for people you name. Anyone who already has your number saved sees it regardless.
Snapchat and Instagram decide who can open your story and whether it can be sent on. TrueTo sets each, wider or narrower.
Spotify can tell your followers what you’re listening to right now, and anyone who opens your profile the artists you’ve played lately. TrueTo sets them on or off.
Snapchat puts you on a map your friends can open, at the place you last used the app. TrueTo sets who sees you there, down to no one, which Snapchat calls Ghost Mode.
TrueTo sets these in the apps you already use.
Android’s privacy dashboard covers permissions: location, camera, microphone. Read receipts, activity status and who sees your profile live inside each app, in different menus, under different names. TrueTo goes into each app and sets them for you.
In WhatsApp, no: with your read receipts off, you stop seeing theirs too. Telegram makes the same trade on Last Seen. Its own FAQ says: “you won’t see Last Seen timestamps for people with whom you don’t share your own.”
Not from any one app. WhatsApp keeps Read Receipts as its own setting; most other apps fold the same signal into activity status, and some, Discord among them, have none. TrueTo goes into each app and sets them all.
No. They’re separate settings, even where they sit in the same menu. WhatsApp split Last Seen and online status into two settings in August 2022, and read receipts only change the checkmarks. TrueTo sets each one on its own.
They won’t get a notification. What changes is what they see: “Active 2h ago” stops appearing, and blue checkmarks stop showing up. Turn a setting back on and it returns.
Yes. TrueTo goes into each app and changes the setting the way you would. Every one of them is reversible, one at a time, so read receipts can come back on in WhatsApp without touching Instagram.
