Show or hide your online status in Instagram on Android

Your activity status tells people in Instagram when you’re using the app and when you last used it.

When it’s shown, people see a green dot and “Active now” while you’re using Instagram, and how long ago you were active once you’ve closed it, such as “Active 2h ago.” When it’s hidden, they see neither.

It’s shown to anyone you’ve messaged.

Turn Show activity status on or off

You can turn on Show activity status so people you’ve messaged know when you’re using Instagram, or turn it off so they don’t.

  1. Go to the Instagram app on your phone.
  2. Tap your profile picture, then tap the Menu button.
  3. Under How others can interact with you, tap Messages and story replies.
  4. Tap Show activity status.
  5. Turn Show activity status on or off.

Use TrueTo to set your green dot in Instagram and your other apps
